Privacy Policy
NazoMap (“the Site”) has established the following privacy policy regarding the handling of users’ personal information. This English text is a translation; if there is any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.
1. Information we collect
The Site may collect the following information:
- Your name, email address and message entered in the contact or removal request forms
- Nicknames, posts and attached images entered through the comment and submission features (images are re-created and saved with location data and other metadata removed)
- Access logs (IP address, browser type, referrer, date and time of access, etc.)
- Information collected through cookies and similar technologies
2. Purposes of use
- To respond to inquiries and removal requests
- To prevent and deal with abusive posts and spam
- To analyze how the Site is used and to improve its content and features
- To deliver and display advertisements and measure their effectiveness
3. IP addresses and identification cookies
When you comment, like, vote in rankings, submit information or contact us, your IP address is converted into a non-reversible form (a hash value) and stored for the purposes of preventing spam and responding to disclosure requests made under the law. The IP address itself is not stored.
To prevent duplicate votes and repeated posts, a random identification number is stored in a cookie (nazomap_vid, valid for one year). This number is also stored only as a non-reversible hash and is not used to identify individuals. If cookies are disabled, voting and commenting are not available.
As an anti-spam measure, the Site may use Cloudflare Turnstile. For how Turnstile handles information, please see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
The Site uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

5. Affiliate programs
The Site participates in affiliate programs that introduce products and services such as books and travel. If you purchase a product through a referral link, the Site may receive a commission. Please make purchases and contracts at your own discretion in accordance with each seller’s terms.
The Site participates in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. The Site also participates in the Rakuten Affiliate and Booking.com affiliate programs. Boxes containing referral links are labeled “PR”.
6. Embedded YouTube videos
The Japanese edition of the Site uses the YouTube API Services to obtain information about YouTube videos and display embedded videos. Videos are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press the play button. When a video is played, YouTube (Google) services are used and Google may collect information. 7. Analytics tools
The Site may use analytics tools to understand how it is used. These tools use cookies to collect traffic data. The data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
8. Disclosure to third parties
We will not provide personal information to third parties without the consent of the person concerned, except as required by law.
9. Disclosure, correction and deletion
If you request disclosure, correction or deletion of your personal information, we will respond promptly after confirming your identity. Please contact us through the contact form.
10. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy in response to changes in laws or operational needs. The revised policy takes effect when it is posted on this page.
