Aldous Huxley was a British writer. Born into the Huxley family, known for its biologists, he left many novels, critical works and essays. In his later years he moved to the United States.
His 1932 novel Brave New World depicts a future society in which humans are produced in factories and managed by class, and people are kept from feeling discontent through pleasure and drugs. It is considered, along with Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, a representative dystopian novel.
