What is the Frogman?

The Frogman is a bipedal creature with a frog-like face said to have been sighted in the town of Loveland, Ohio. It is also called the “Loveland Frog.” It was said to be about 1 m tall, with a face like a frog or lizard and leathery skin.

Sightings by police officers

The first sighting is said to have been in 1955, when a man driving at night said he saw a humanoid creature with a frog-like face standing by the road. In 1972, a police officer on night patrol reported that a frog-like creature crouching on the road stood up, climbed over the guardrail and fled toward the river, which caused a sensation.

What is the Frogman really?

One of the police officers who witnessed it in 1972 later said it may have been a lizard such as a large iguana. It is thought to have been an escaped pet reptile or something misidentified in the darkness. In Loveland the Frogman has become a local attraction, and events themed on it are held.
