What are the Nightcrawlers?

The Nightcrawlers are unidentified creatures caught in 2007 on a security camera in the yard of a home in Fresno, California. No head or arms can be seen; they appear to walk awkwardly on just two long, thin white legs, and have been described as “white pants walking by themselves.”

The security camera footage

The footage showed two white creatures slowly crossing a yard at night side by side. When it was shown on TV programs and online, it became a worldwide sensation. Later, around 2010, footage said to show similar creatures in Yosemite National Park, also in California, was released.

What are the Nightcrawlers really?

The leading theory is that the footage shows puppets or was composited with CG (computer graphics). Some, however, link them with spirits from Native American folklore. They are a leading example of a new type of cryptid born in the age of the internet and video.
