What is the Dover Demon?
The Dover Demon is an unidentified creature sighted in April 1977 in the town of Dover, Massachusetts, in the eastern United States. It was said to be about 1 m tall, with a large, watermelon-like head out of proportion to its body, large glowing orange eyes, and thin, hairless, flesh-colored limbs.
Two days of sightings
The first sighting was by a young man driving at night, who said he saw a strange creature crawling along a stone wall by the road in his headlights. That night and the next day, other young people reported seeing a similar creature. But the sightings lasted only those two days, and it never appeared again. The witnesses each left sketches of the creature they saw.
What is the Dover Demon really?
Opinions vary widely, from a newborn moose or calf mistaken for something else, to a prank, to an alien. That the witnesses were young people who did not know one another yet drew similar sketches deepens the mystery. Because it resembles a Grey, it is sometimes linked with aliens.
